Uganda Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Big Five Safari Detailed Itinerary (11 Days)
Destinations: Entebbe, Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi, Murchison Falls, Kidepo
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Transfer to Kampala
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative.
You’ll then transfer to your hotel in Kampala for rest and a safari briefing.
Optional: Brief city tour or cultural experience if time allows.
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest – Visit Crater Lakes
Depart early from Kampala and head west to Kibale Forest National Park, the primate capital of the world.
Enjoy scenic views of rolling hills and tea plantations.
Optional: Afternoon visit to the picturesque crater lakes for exploration and photography.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Join park rangers for an exciting chimpanzee trekking experience in Kibale Forest.
Observe chimpanzees up close as they feed, interact, and swing through the trees.
Later, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park with views of the Rwenzori Mountains.
Day 4: Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Safari
Early morning game drive in Kasenyi Plains – expect to see elephants, lions, antelopes, and more.
Afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel to spot hippos, crocodiles, and birds like African fish eagles.
Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha Sector
Morning drive through the Ishasha Sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions.
Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to almost half of the world’s mountain gorillas.
Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
Early breakfast, then head into the forest with rangers to track a gorilla family.
Once located, spend up to one hour with the gorillas – a once-in-a-lifetime encounter.
Optional: Afternoon village or cultural walk.
Day 7: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Long scenic drive to Murchison Falls National Park.
Arrive in the evening and visit the top of the falls – see the Nile explode through a 7m gorge and plunge 43m.
Day 8: Game Drive & Boat Safari to the Base of the Falls
Morning game drive on the northern bank of the Nile – look for lions, giraffes, leopards, elephants, and buffalo.
Afternoon boat cruise to the base of the falls – great views and photo opportunities with hippos and crocs.
Day 9: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park
Drive northeast to Kidepo Valley, Uganda’s most remote and dramatic park.
Enjoy the changing scenery and picnic lunch on the way. Arrive for sunset views over the savannah.
Day 10: Full Day Game Drive in Kidepo Valley
Explore Narus Valley and Kidepo Valley on game drives. Expect to see lions, cheetahs, zebras, ostriches, and large buffalo herds.
Optional: Visit the Karamojong community to learn about their nomadic culture.
Day 11: Return to Entebbe or Fly Back
Option 1: Domestic flight from Kidepo to Entebbe.
Option 2: Drive back to Entebbe via Gulu (10–11 hours).
Transfer to airport or hotel for your international departure.
